Bodarc This music doesn't reinvent the wheel but offers a creative approach to the elements of music which capture the heart. Tasteful, not overproduced, and professionally presented.

Steve Lawson 3 amazing musicians playing gorgeous laid back instrumental music. What's not to love about that? Firmly in ECM-land. Favorite track: II.

about

In November 2012, three musicians came together to play freely improvised music and recorded everything. This is the result.
Presented here with virtually no edits, these eight tracks represent about half of the music we recorded at that session. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it...

"Acoustic jazz textures are the backdrop against which these improvisations are played out, but these musicians are not constrained by any limiting sense of stylistic practice or conventional phraseology... This is an uncluttered field, with three quite brilliant musicians collaborating with huge mutual regard and an astonishing slow-burn intensity. Simply beautiful." Oliver Arditi, oliverarditi.com

"Its rolling textures and seemingly mind-meld moments make it sound like they’ve worked together for a lifetime." Kevin Johnson, NoTreble.

"From a live compositional perspective the band works together extremely well and there are several moments where you would naturally assume that they'd been carefully rehearsed... Incredibly impressive" Mike Sims, Radio Cardiff 98.7fm (Jazz Special)

"The overall sensation, after hearing “Foreground Music Vol.1” from beginning to end, is one of contemplative calm, and if the listener is willing to become immersed in each piece, the opportunity for personal reflection and appraisal... As the name “Foreground Music Vol.1” suggests, this may not be merely considered to be background music that defines a space in time, but music worthy of specific consideration and scrutiny, and, hopefully, there may be more to be heard from this session on future releases." John Toolan, Music To Wash Up To

"3 amazing musicians playing gorgeous laid back instrumental music. What's not to love about that? Firmly in ECM-land." Steve Lawson
